What is a Memory Café?

A Memory Café is a relaxed social gathering for people living with early memory loss and their care partners. It is an opportunity to enjoy regular, social interaction with their peers in a safe, judgment free, and welcoming environment.

How are they valuable?

A memory café allows those living with any form of early memory loss or cognitive decline the ability to enjoy the company of others and come out of isolation. Memory Cafés help reduce stigma around memory loss by reducing isolation and providing safe interactions in a public setting. Members of the community not living with memory loss can see the memory café and engage with attendees as well.

What happens at the Memory Café?

Attendees benefit from social interaction outside of the home. Friendly connections are made, conversations had, & shared meals enjoyed. Optional activity engagement is available.
