Senior Legal Advice Clinics (SLAC)

The purpose of these legal services is to enable elders to secure rights, benefits, and entitlements under federal, state, and local laws. It also seeks favorable changes in laws and regulations that affect older people.

This program also disseminates information about legal issues to older persons, service groups and bar associations through lectures, group discussions, and the media.

Clients can obtain free legal consultation for themselves, and/or on behalf of seniors age 60 and over, regarding civil legal issues such as:

  • Landlord/tenant rights
  • Social Security
  • Medicaid law
  • Transfer of assets
  • Powers of Attorney
  • Simple Wills
