COVID 19 and the Stay at Home orders have particularly impacted family caregivers. Most are vulnerable adults taking care of even more vulnerable adults. Let us come into your homes with this online educational and support program at no charge to you. If you have a pad, computer or even phone and internet access, we can help you get set up on Zoom.

Powerful Tools for Caregivers gives you the skills to take care of yourself while caring for someone else.

By taking care of your own health and well-being, you become a better caregiver. Class participants share what they have learned with each other. They are also given the Caregiver Helpbook to accompany the class and provided additional caregiver resources.

SCHEDULE:

Every Monday from 10 – 11:45 beginning May 11, 2020 and ending June 22, 2020 (6 weeks)

The class will give you tools to help:

  • Reduce Stress
  • Improve Self-Confidence
  • Manage Time, Set Goals, and Solve Problems
  • Better Communicate Their Feelings
  • Locate Helpful Resources
  • Make Tough Decision

You are not alone.

This program is free to those who care for someone who is at least 60 years or older (55 for Native Americans) living in Clallam, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, and Pacific Counties. Others may take the class if space is available and they purchase their own Caregiver Handbook. It is sponsored by the Olympic Area Agency on Aging and funded by the Federal Older Americans Act.

Please describe any assistance you need to participate in the meeting due to a disability by a meeting to the program organizers at the time of registration.
